From 1987-1995, I worked on and off, in between undergrad school and grad school, during holidays, summers, sometimes full-time, sometimes part-time at a bakery. I was primarily responsible for cakes, and this included wedding cakes. I couldn’t help but see the relationship between frosting and paint, and so I translated those two obsessions to create these paintings. I still, to this day think about these seductive forms and know I will continue to investigate the use of them in my work. The work below was completed from 1995 - 2008.
